Today, 92 5th graders had their promotion ceremony. It began with awards, followed by a reflection by our 5th grade teachers and presentation of the promotion certificates. The ceremony concluded with a video showing pictures of some of the students when they were in Kindergarten at AES and other highlights of this school year. After the ceremony, students and parents enjoyed refreshments in the courtyard along with a photo booth to help capture memories of the day. Congratulations to all of them!
The Summer Reading Log is now available here. Easily keep track of your summer reading with this log and turn it in when you return in August.
Mrs. Henderson is offering an additional reading challenge called Book Bingo. Enjoy reading different genres. Select a row, line or diagonal from which to read. Select books according to the genre in each square (making a total of 4 books). Books selected should be on the your reading level.
Color in the BINGO square when you complete a book. Write the title and author for each book read (with its genre) on the back of this sheet. Return this BINGO card with at least one row completed to the AES media center in August to receive a poster. Fill the entire card to receive an additional reward.
We will once again have our Summer Reading Book Swap at AES. This will be open the following Tuesdays from 10:00-11:30:
PLEASE READ THIS SUMMER! We have books for you to borrow all summer long. ANY book donations would be greatly appreciated but not required.
